Geoff Walker Memorial Fund -- 2010-05-31

Geoff Walker was a founding member of ACLA's predecessor, the Ashfield Lakefront Association, and ACLA's first Treasurer. He was the originator of our stream-testing project, a generous volunteer to the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority's education programme, and an enthusiastic builder of bird houses that were distributed across the county.

At the request of his many friends and his family, the Maitland Conservation Foundation has launched the Geoff Walker Memorial Fund. This fund honours Geoff's commitment to the environment, his support of conservation education, and his love of the lake. The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority and Geoff's family will assist the Foundation with using donations to support conservation projects and activities.

The Maitland Conservation Foundation works in partnership with the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority to raise funds for environmental projects. The Foundation is a registered, charitable organization that is led by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Donations to the Geoff Walker Memorial Fund will be gratefully accepted, and receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more. On-line donations can be made by selecting "Geoff Walter Memorial Fund" as the "fund/desgination" under the Maitland Conservation Foundation's entry at www.canadahelps.org.
